About Me
Listening has been my life's work — long before it became my profession
I have been working as a psychotherapist for over 20 years. Before that, I spent 15 years in front-line and management roles across addiction, mental health, criminal justice, and homelessness services. All of it, in one way or another, was about understanding why we do the things we do.
My core training is psychodynamic — a five-year clinical and theoretical training, supported by over ten years of personal therapy. Over the years I have added qualifications in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), complex trauma, organisational dynamics, eco-psychotherapy, climate and environmental therapy, art therapy, and dream analysis. I continue to learn.
In recent years my work has increasingly focused on the intersection of trauma and neurodivergence. These are not separate states, but are deeply connected, and that connection is close to the heart of how I work.
Being autistic myself, I bring first-hand experience of the assessment process and the upheaval that can follow. I understand where traditional talking therapy is helpful, and where it is not. Therapy can ultimately be a liberating experience — but it takes time, courage, and a willingness to reframe a whole life.
As a therapist I bring decades of experience, genuine curiosity, and real intellect to our work together. I am interested in you — not just your symptoms, your history, or your diagnosis, but the whole, complicated person you are.
